Paylent.

Features

Everything between the work and the money.

Paylent does one job properly: asking to be paid, and keeping track of what came back. Here is the whole of it.

  1. 1

    Draft

    Editable, unnumbered, deletable.

  2. 2

    Issued

Numbered and frozen. A claim somebody can act on.

  3. 3

    Paid

Payments recorded against it until nothing is left.

Invoices that behave like invoices

A draft is a working document. Issuing it assigns the next number in your own sequence and freezes what it says, because a number you quote to a customer has to mean one thing. Corrections are a void and a fresh invoice, not a quiet edit.

  • Lines with quantity, unit price and their own tax rate
  • Due dates, your customer’s purchase order reference, and notes they’ll read
  • Filter by draft, outstanding, paid or void — overdue is flagged for you
  • Totals are summed from the lines, so nothing can drift out of step

Getting paid

Email the invoice and your customer gets a private link. Replies go to your address, not ours. If you have connected Stripe, that page has a button that pays it.

  • Card payment through Stripe, straight into your own account — you are the merchant of record
  • Bank transfers, cash and cheques recorded by hand, part payments included
  • Every invoice link is unguessable and can be rotated if it goes astray
  • The same payment is only ever counted once, however many times we hear about it

Tax the way your country does it

Call it VAT, GST or sales tax; charge one rate, several, or none. Prices can be quoted with tax in them or without, and every invoice keeps whichever settings it was raised under.

  • A usual rate filled in for you, overridable line by line
  • Your registration number printed on invoices that charge tax
  • A tax summary that always agrees with the lines above it

Customers and team

Everyone you bill, with the address details an invoice needs, searchable by name or email. Bring in the people you work with and give them a sign-in of their own.

  • Admins run the business; staff get a narrower door
  • Invite by email — an invitation is pending until it is accepted
  • One login across several businesses, switched from the sidebar

For agents

An MCP server, and nine things it can do.

Make a key in your settings and point your agent at the endpoint. The key belongs to one business and acts as you, so it can reach exactly what you can and nothing else. Voiding, deleting and rotating a link are deliberately left out — they are either irreversible or a decision about security.

Paylent is in beta and this list is honest rather than short. If one of these is what stands between you and using it, that is worth telling us — it is how the order gets decided.
